Upon Reflection

Upon reflection, sitting down and thinking about what to do next is so important.

I have made a big career decision. This took a lot of thought and consideration, and I have made the right decision. My current role has given me a great two and a half years, but it’s sometimes necessary to explore new opportunities.

I weighed up different possibilities. I would say for the last 8 months, I have assessed what I am doing now and what could change. I have come to the realisation that it’s good to remind yourself that careers aren’t linear. I had a vision in mind. This included starting somewhere on a graduate scheme, and progressing to the top. Fast forward to today, my team just found out I’m moving on.

Truthfully, this is the right decision. I’m looking forward to learning more, building new relationships, and testing myself.

My current team is exceptionally capable, and I appreciate all the support they have provided to me from day one. I will take away many gems, plenty of which I will use throughout my career. They have put me in a great position to go elsewhere and shine.

Listen though, I still have three months. The job is not finished. The relationships are still there. The work still needs to be done. I have learnt and I have developed. It’s now time to finish on a solid note and contribute further. I’ll be back in three months.

As one door closes, another one opens. Honestly, the door is now wide open. It’s time for me to fill the room.
